Comm 229: The Future of Movies?

So, the newest scary movie that's coming out in theaters is "Final Destination:3-D", which of course is going to suck. Honestly, you can only beat that story line into the ground for so long before we all start to bleed, and beg for it to end.
However, bashing this horrible horror film is not my intention. I have recently noticed that many movies are coming out in 3-D. One of the first dates my boyfriend and I went on was to see "Open Season" in 3-D. This is the new big thing. So of course I'm curious, where exactly is 3-D going to be going. I have speculated ( with disapproval from my boyfriend) that all movies will soon be in 3-D, and that eventually I think that they will be basically interactive, where the audience really is living the movie. Luckily for me, it looks like I'm right!

I came across this article today: http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/08/21/avatar.day.james.cameron/. Where they talk about an upcoming 3-D movie, and how it's going to effect Hollywood. Personally, I'm excited. And of course, once all of our movies are in 3-D, we're going to want all of our news and other media to be in 3-D. Imagine living in a world like Star Wars, where voice messages really are a person in the middle of the air talking to you. Freakin' Awesome.

  1. Hey katie, so many people have been talking about this movie and its so surprising how many people come up to me and tell me that they were really disappointed with the movie after being really excited to see it. Can anyone name "JUST ONE" movie that was still great by the 4th sequel? I dont think so. I mean cmon. IDK about the whole 3D thing though. Maybe its just me but i went to the museum of science in boston a few weeks ago, and i saw a shark show in 3D and my eyes bothered me for the rest of the day. If you ask me, I'll stick to my "oh so regular" HDTV. lol
