Comm 300: Production

So, I am going to stick with the topic of Twilight for this blog also.. I know.. I know!!! but, I can't help it I am reading the series now and it is on my mind. But, anyways for this week I watched the film Lost in La Mancha, which takes a look at the production aspect of movies. Very interesting, but depressing because the movie still hasn't been completed yet. But, that is a whole nother story.
But, I am wondering now about the production of New Moon. Twilight I guess had a very very small budget, and it was the director's first time doing a movie... what luck that it turned out to be a great success. What I am really interested in is how the budget of New Moon has been effected by the huge success of Twilight. I'm sure that the producers took one look at it and said "Yes!!! We will give you millions more to make this movie even better." It only makes sense.. as awful as the first one was I am intrigued by the second one. (Really though, I'm hoping that an increased budget will have helped it along a little bit...)

  1. From what I've seen, the CGI for the werewolves looks amazing! I'm sure their expanded budget will make this movie at the very least very fun to watch with all of the special effects. And its really ok that you're blogging about Twilight, I can't wait until I can see the movie!

  2. Based on the trailer, the movie looks pretty good. Since Twilight was so incredibly popular, I'm sure New Moon got a better budget to work with, which can't hurt, right? Also, Catherine Hardwicke isn't directing this one, so it should be interesting to see if the change in directors makes any noticeable difference as well.
