Comm 300: Trident Commercial

so, the other night I am watching television and a new Trident Layers commercial comes on. And supposedly, this gum is so good that you would be willing to be paid in gum. It's interesting that there are minorities in this commercial, and they aren't showcased in a stereotypical way. The best example is at the very end of the commercial, there is an Asian construction worker who complains that he doesn't get paid in gum. This is interesting, because most times a person of Asian descent will be put in an office position of some sort. And this time, he's just a regular joe doing construction. I'm going try and find the commercial online.. but am having no luck currently.

  1. I have seen this commercial a million times and I never noticed that. However, it is good to see that current commercials aren't relying on typical stereotypes to create humorous situations.

  2. I've seen it a million times too and the races of the actors never came to mind. Why? Because I'm not a racist, have no guilt/sympathy or self imposed paternalism towards humans made pets of PC-correct hypocrites such as yourself proves your troubles with your own latent racist feelings.
